A recent National Australia Bank (NAB) – Life After School – found that those wanting to start their own business has grown from 3 in 10 (2023) to 5 in 10 (2025)
That’s right, nearly half (47%) of Australian secondary school students want to start their own business, driven by a desire for autonomy, with 6 in 10 seeking a balanced life. This trend is heavily driven by younger generations, with 75% of Gen Z considering starting a business and 41% wanting to be their own boss.
