Key Information About Contracts
- Used to facilitate automatic assignment of jobs to the appropriate provider (Operator or Franchise)
- They tie a suburb (or multiple) and a service type (or multiple) together and assign jobs to the matching provider that has that contract
- Jobs are immediately assigned upon entering the system and matching a contract
- Jobs are only assigned to one matching provider
- Contracts cannot contain duplicates E.G. Two separate contracts for two seperate providers both for service type “Dog Wash” in the location of “North Sydney 2060”
- Both Operators & Franchises can have contracts
- You can add multiple to contracts to a provider to tailor auto assignment to your specific needs
If you’re looking to submit jobs to multiple Operators or Franchises and have them accept the job on a first come, first serve basis, then you would need to use the Up For Grabs feature of Opus.

To A Franchise
Firstly within Opus navigate to the Franchise menu item under the sidebar menu and click it.
Now you’re on the Franchise view screen, find the Franchise you wish to add the contract to and click View
You’ll now see a snapshot view of the details about the Franchise, look for the Contracts tab and select it.

For a Franchise, the contract against the Franchise overrides any contract against the Operator. If you add an Operator intending for them to be a Franchise, it is best practice to not add the contract to the Operator, but wait until you have added a franchise and can build the contract against the Franchise.
Building The Contract
You can verify you’re adding a Contract to the correct provider by checking in the top left, it will say either (depending on if you’re adding the contract to an Operator or Franchise):
- Contractor’s Name / New Contract
- Franchise’s Name / New Contract
Starting in the top left of the screen, we will add the suburbs we want associated with this contract.
Under Add Primary Suburb, begin typing the suburb name in the box, as you type Opus Systems will display a list of potential matching suburbs, the more you type the more accurate they will be.
Once you see the suburb you want, select it by clicking on it – this is the only way to add the suburb, by clicking it to confirm that is your choice.
There may be a momentary pause for 1-2 seconds as Opus adds the suburb to the contract, you can tell if it has been successfully added as it will appear under the input box and instructions in red with a 🗑️ symbol next to it.
You can repeat this process as many times as required to add multiple suburbs to the contract.
If you wish to remove a suburb, click the rubbish bin icon 🗑️ next to the suburb.
Opus Systems is phasing out Secondary Suburbs, we advise that you do not add any suburbs to the secondary suburb section of contracts
Next we’ll add the service types to be associated to this contract, this selection is located under where you add the Primary Suburb.
You will need select the top level service type (the top box), then the associated sub-service type. Press Add Service to add it to the contract.
You have to repeat this process for every service type you wish to add to the contract.
Once you have added all the suburbs & service types to the contract, press Save Contract to save the contract. It will immediately be active if it is saved. If you try to save a contract with duplicate details from another contract, Opus will warn you about this and you will need to adjust your contract before being able to save it.
You will now see the Contract on the provide with an Edit button, you can add more contracts to the provider, or edit existing contracts if needed.
View All Contracts
You can quickly view all the contracts you have and the associated Franchise or Provider using the Contracts menu item.
It will display a screen showing all Operators & Franchises, the contract suburbs & service types.
Use this to quickly check on your contracts or identify any problems or duplicates before they arise.
