FAQ

What is an “Operator”?

In Opus an Operator is an intended end user of Opus, the people who provide the service to the client.

Operators are the ones using the Opus App, accepting jobs and engaging with the client to provide their service.

Operators are also needed if you have a franchise based business system, as each Franchise needs an Operator attached to them.

What is a “Franchisee”?

A Franchisee is someone who operates a Franchise.

In Opus Franchisees are simply Operators, who are attached to a Franchise, as the Business Operator of that Franchise.

They will appear in Opus for State Masters, Business Owners & Above under the “Operators” list as a seperate tab.

What is a “Franchise”?

Opus can operate with: just Franchises, just Operators or a with a combination of both to suit your business requirements.

For a business definition of what Franchising is, start with the Wikipedia article.

In terms of Opus a Franchise is an entity that can be represented as it’s own business entity within Opus, where jobs can be assigned to it, information collected and maintained about it, analytics drawn from it.

Franchises can have contracts placed against them that allows the auto-assignment of jobs based on set criteria, as well as being eligible for Up For Grabs jobs too.

For a Franchise to exist in Opus there must be an Operator associated to it – create an Operator before adding a franchise!
One Operator can manage/belong to multiple Franchises (and they’ll only need to maintain one login – their Operator login)

Note: In the Operators view, there will be a seperate tab for “Franchisees”, which are just Operators assigned to a Franchise.

What is a “Franchisor”?

A Franchisor is typically a State Master level role in Opus.

The Franchisor role in Opus will have access to view all jobs within their allocated state(s), add new jobs, add and manage Operators, Franchise & Franchisees as well as adding & editing contracts. Franchisors can enable Auto-Up For Grabs in their state(s), as well as manually assigning jobs to Franchises/Operators or manually setting jobs to Up For Grabs.

They are not intended an end-level user who would use the Opus App to Accept jobs issued by Opus and provide the service to the client.

A Franchisor can manage multiple states if needed.

Do I Need to Create a Unique Region per Franchise/Operator?

No, you do not need a unique region per Franchise or Operator

Regions are used for grouping collections of franchises and operators for useful tools such as Up For Grabs.
Think of regions as catchment areas.

Every Franchise or Operator does need a Region attached to it.
If you have split your State/Area up into sub-areas and added them to the Regions in Opus, you can assign thoe Franchises & Operators the correct Regions.

There is always a base Region at state level (E.G Queensland, New South Wales…Etc.) for Franchises and Operators, you can always use this region.

Regions are important as they denote to which State (and therefore Franchisor/State Master/Manager) they belong to, so make sure you select it carefully!

Up For Grabs – What is its Purpose?

Up For Grabs (UFG) is designed as a “Notice board” style for job allocation. It is designed to quickly get a job in the right hands for people to deal with and get in touch with clients ASAP.

Each Operator/Franchisee will receive an Up For Grabs notification on the Opus App when a job they are eligible for is put Up For Grabs.

It then operates on a First Come, First Serve basis, with the Operator/Franchise opting in to Accept the job.

Jobs can be automatically put into Up For Grabs if they’re not automatically assigned to a Operator/Franchisee, or manually put into Up For Grabs by a Manager/Franchisor.

Opus, the perfect mobile operator management tool to auto assign work to operators and manage workflow.
